Karaburun, the old Mimas, is being mentioned several times in Greek mythology. In his Odyssey Homer refers to “windy Mimas” meaning the Bozdag range of the Karaburun Peninsula.
The villages of Tepeboz and Yeniliman used to be inhabited by mainly Orthodox Greeks. The little harbour of Yeniliman was a commercial trade center with a certain importance.The old houses and the restored houses of Tepeboz give a nice idea of how these villages looked like in old days.
