Location: 1405 chestnut grove rd.
City: columbia
State/Province: Kentucky Country: US Type: Single Family
Custom built split level home with approx. 1750 sq ft. and a 1500 sq ft building that is currently a woodshop with an apartment or the whole thing can be a second house plus about 10 acres, half wooded and half pasture. The area is great for hunting and 'sang-digging', there is lots of wildlife, deer, raccoons, squirrels, fox, turkeys. The house is what I call a stretched gazebo shape in 4 different levels (not counting the basement) with 4 ft wide ramps from one to the other except the loft that has steps. The lumber was all cut on a bandsaw and is full size, a 2x4 is a real 2x4 and a 2x8 is a real 2x8 and so on. Kitchen, has finished natural oak beams. The cabinets are built in and are made from one oak tree that was quarter sawn and kiln dried. They are a raised panel design with the cabinet doors in front of the sink are book-matched knots that give a feather effect. Living room, Open oak beam ceiling and open to the loft with lots of large windows for the feel of lots of space. A little bigger than 20 ft x 20 ft and the loft 12 ft x 28 ft it is designed to entertain or hold meeting. There are several year around springs and a small creek. When we built this house we never had any intention of ever selling it. Never say never. We have decided mostly for health reasons to move west and have found and bought a small house in Kansas(pictures). We are sure that if we were to take our time we could get alot more for our place than we are asking, however we are ready to move and have priced the house well below market price so we can move ASAP. The house has county water and DSL. For more info go to wildwoodcrafters.com Thanks, Chris & Donna
